AMEN Guitarist, Drummer Leave Band. Replacements Announced

August 12, 2002

Guitarist Sonny Mayo and drummer Shannon Larkin have officially left AMEN, six-stringer Rich Jones has announced via the group's official web site at www.comaamerica.com.

"Basically this all boils down to money, and the fact that we have none," said Rich.

Larkin, who has spent the past few months playing with GODSMACK (filling in for departed Tommy Stewart) is now believed to be a full-time member of the Massachusetts-based band.

"Larkin has to support his family and GODSMACK allows him to do that," continued Rich. "Sonny is concentrating on his day job for now. We wish those guys the best!"

AMEN have replaced Larkin and Mayo with TEAM SLEEP drummer Zach Hill and his guitarist brother Josh.

"I'm just as bummed about [Shannon and Sonny leaving] as [the fans] are, but I'm also excited to play with Zach and Josh," Jones stated. "I hope [everyone will] give them a chance, and try to think of it as a progression for the band. It was a different band that did [1995's] Slave, and Sonny and Larkin brought in new things when they joined, and Zach and Josh will do the same."
